The SCSIShare(tm) software enables your Macintosh to share scsi devices with other Macintosh computers connected to your network.
The SCSIShare can run only under System 7.0 and better and an Ethernet network is highly recommended.

This demo version of SCSIShare has the session time limited to 5 minutes starting at the beginning of your restart. The number of sessions is not limited.
Server machine is defined as the computer with the scanner or other scsi device atached to its SCSI port.
Client computer is defined as the computer that wants to acces the device on the server machine.
1) Place the SCSIShare Demo control panel into the Control Panels folder on your disk:
2)Restart your computer. When the MacOS system loads, SCSIShare displays its icon on the bottom of the screen.
3) To share a device connected to the computer, open the SCSIShare Demo control panel there, select the device to share, click the Share Device button and give the shared device some network name: Design Disk Scanner for example
The "disk"-type devices (internal, external and rejectable disk drives) cannot be made shared: if several computers access a disk volume bypassing the File Manager, they can easily damage the file system on that volume. You should use the MacOS File Sharing feature to share those devices on your network.
4) To access a shared device from some other computer, open the SCSIShare Demo control panel on that computer (client computer) and click the Create button.
5) Select the SCSI ID to be used for a virtual device: each device on SCSI chain can have an ID from 0 to 6, and virtual devices should not have IDs that are already taken with real devices on your SCSI chain.
The SCSIShare Demo control panel does not allow you to select IDs that are already in use. The ID of the virtual device you create is not required to be the same as the ID of the real device on the server computer: if the shared scanner has the SCSI ID 6 on the server computer SCSI chain, your can create a virtual device with the ID 5 on the client machines A and B, and a virtual device with the ID 3 on the client machine C.
6) When a virtual device is created, you can configure it. The list on the right side of the SCSIShare Demo control panel shows all the shared SCSI devices on your network.
7) Select the device you want to use:
To have simultaneous access to several shared devices, you may want to create several virtual ports.
Use the SCSIProbe control panel or any other utility to examine your SCSI chain: when such an utility starts, it polls all virtual devices as well as the real ones, and the virtual devices should connect to the shared devices on the server computer(s). As a result, you should see those shared devices as your local ones in the lists these utilities present.
8) Open an application that can use a shared device on the computer with a virtual device created. It should be able to find the virtual device and start working with it as exactly as if that device is connected to your computer directly. Please note that SCSI operations usually transfer a lot of data, and that data should be transferred over the network when SCSIShare is involved.
